Mine started in my teens but really became an issue for me when my oldest was four years old. She came to me carrying an unmistakeably adult product asking, "Mommy, what's this?" to which I replied, "that's MINE!" The fact that it was hidden in my nightstand wrapped in a tee-shirt was definitely not enough to guarantee my privacy, not with a four year old. At that point I started looking online for a solution to my problem. I had a cleaning lady, I have kids, they have friends, I have company over... I needed something secure. I also wanted something convenient. I sure didn't want to have to be hunting down a key when I wanted what I was trying to keep private. Internet searches netted no results. Everything had to be hidden because you couldn't just leave it out, had a key that had to be hidden or was something my kids would want to play with. That's when I decided I wanted something that I could keep on my nightstand, something pretty that wouldn't look out of place, something that my kids couldn't get into!
